Surprises Are Ahead...

0 talk backs

Here's all the scoop from Shonda Rhimes herself, thanks to those wonderful people over at TVGuide - this time, it's the magazine. The issue? It's currently on stands now. Grey's Anatomy returns April 24.

What's next "When we come, we'll have leapt ahead five or six weeks in time," creator Shonda Rhimes says. "It's our way of acknowledging the bump [caused by the strike]. But it'll be very clear from the first moment what has transpired. You'll see where things stand with Derek and Meredith and Rose. You'll see where George is living, and in the first episode all the residents will be involved in a high-stakes surgical contest - definitely something the chief would not condone."
Hookup central "Old relationships will become new again, some people you thought would never get together will, and there are going to be some interesting outside influences," Rhimes promises. George and Izzie have "put it to bed for the night. They've left it at the idea that it's not necessarily about the bad sex as [it is] the bad timing. What will be interesting to see is that after the intimate explosion of events [whether] they can just be friends." Pretty boy plastic surgeon Mark "McSteamy" Sloan will continue his pursuit of hard-to-impress Dr. Hahn. "The way that is going to play out will be surprising to everyone," Rhimes says. "Mark is not used to not getting what he wants."
The MerDer Chronicles "I am pretty dedicated to the idea that they are going to be together for good this season," Rhimes says. "What's going to be interesting is how she gets her act together, and how they decide this is it." Are those wedding bells we hear?! "I did not say there is going to be a wedding," Rhimes says. "Or a ring. Although I didn't say there wasn't going to be a ring."
Flamethrower Addison will pop up at Seattle Grace to perform surgeries that only she can do and "discover whether you can really ever go home," Rhimes says.
The date currently set for Addison's return? May 1, the second episode back from the hiatus.

Gizzie is No More

2 talk backs

Here's the scoop from Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com. Grey's Anatomy finally returns on April 24th with five all-new episodes.

That's great about Mer/Der getting back together for good this season, but what about Seattle Grace's other star-crossed duo — you know, Gizzie? It's with overwhelming joy deep regret that I inform you that Gizzie is no more. Sources confirm that the ill-conceived plot twist suffocated to death under the weight of its own absurdity shortly after the writers returned to work last month. A private memorial service was held in early March at the home of Shonda Rhimes. In lieu of flowers, fans are asked to keep the "thank gods" to a low roar….
Got any clue as to what's going to happen when Addison returns to Grey's Anatomy? I've actually got a big clue and here it is: Addison just so happens to stop by Seattle Grace on the same day a patient is admitted to the hospital with a neo-natal-type emergency. What are the odds?!

MerDer, Alex, and Addison...

0 talk backs

Here's a ton of scoop from our best scoop gal, Kristin at E! Online.

I need Grey's Anatomy news, especially MerDer scoop! Well, you're in luck. Shonda Rhimes was the guest of honor of the Red Tie benefit for the Red Cross of Santa Monica (a relationship that started with that ferryboat-crash episode last season), and chatted about, yes, the future of Meredith and Derek. She said what I know many fans will be happy to hear: "It's time for [Meredith] to get over her issues." Rhimes continued: "She and Derek should either be over by the end of the season, or she should make it on her own. I felt like, you know, what I want to see is what happens after the happily ever after."
Any scoop about my Grey's fave: Alex Karev? Shonda said, "It's good, but I can't say anything." Poopie! Chyler Leigh, bless her possibly now-unemployed (just kidding) heart, said she doesn't think the Alex-Lexie door is closed: "It was left pretty open-ended there, so I'd guess it's going to continue for a bit. I'm very looking forward to it and to getting back to work."
What's up for Addison's return to Grey's? Any McSteamy love? According to Shonda, "I don't know if I'd call it the final visit, but she is coming back for a visit." And don't expect any McDreamy-McSteamy resolution either. "I think she has more important things to resolve than men. She's got the job that the chief left open for her and a couple of other things." Kate Walsh said the script hasn't been written yet and that she'll start shooting at the end of March.

Major Twists Coming Up

3 talk backs

Here's all the latest scoop from Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com:

Will Alex and Addison "happen" before she leaves?
(Major spoiler alert) Remember how I told you that Grey's decided to put the brakes on Addisex due to Kate Walsh's impending spin-off-fueled exit from the show? Well, it appears either Shonda Rhimes had a change of heart or I was given some lousy intel, because the two of them are definitely doing the horizontal tango before she leaves for Los Angeles. In fact, I hear it's their little affair that ultimately leads her to flee Seattle. Also not helping matters: McSteamy's "failure" to stick to his 60-day vow of chastity. Why'd I put failure in quotes, you ask? 'Cause there's a twist (and a surprising one at that)!
Just saw your latest vodcast. Please tell me it is not Derek who slaps Meredith in the face.
And ruin all the suspense?! Pshaw. I can tell you that Derek and Meredith aren't exactly on solid footing by the end of the May 3 episode.
I just had two wisdom teeth pulled, so please pity me and give me some Grey's Anatomy scoop!
Addison won't be the only Seattle Grace doc who is considering a change of scenery in the coming weeks. My Grey's mole reports that all the drama surrounding Gizzie-gate will prompt George to consider transferring to another hospital.

More "Private Practice" Details

1 talk backs

According to one of our friends, BuzzSugar, the LA Times has learned some new details about Addison's new spin-off, currently entitled Private Practice [it may change]. The special two-hour episode that will set this whole thing up [but is apparently not being considered the pilot, as rumor suggested] is airing May 10th. Here's the details:

Following her recent disastrous romantic misfortunes, Addison (Kate Walsh) travels to Santa Monica to seek advice from her old medical school pals, Naomi (Merrin Dungey) and Jackson (Taye Diggs) whom she believes have it all: a beautiful teenage daughter, a great marriage and a highly successful health cooperative.

Addison quickly learns that Jackson, also a successful TV health guru, has divorced Naomi. During the visit, Addison also meets the rest of the gang at the cooperative: a widowed alternative medicine doctor, a self-doubting therapist, and a male gynecologist who knows little about women, and realizes she is on familiar ground.

And Here's How Addison will Decide to Leave Seattle...

0 talk backs

Here's the newest scoop on Grey's Anatomy from Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com:

Izzie and George — noooooooooooooooooo!
My thoughts exactly. BTW, don't forget to check out my urgent news bulletin regarding tomorrow night's Grey's. Your life depends on it.
My birthday was last Friday, just like your BFF Lauren Graham! That should be worth some serious Grey's scoop.
Lucky for you, I just received a fresh batch of intel regarding the enhanced two-hour May-sweeps episode of Grey's Anatomy with a potential for afterlife (aka the spin-off). According to multiple unnamed spies who (lucky for us) can't keep their traps shut, Addison comes to the conclusion that (Spoiler alert) McSteamy is about a decade away from becoming father material, and hightails it to Los Angeles to meet with one of the world's foremost fertility experts. Mrs. Egg Harvester is also one of Addison's BFFs and the owner of a state-of-the-art wellness center, which just so happens to be looking for a neonatal specialist. I think you can figure out the rest.
OK, totally hated the George-Izzie hookup on Grey's last week. That was the last thing I thought was true from your list of twists. I had money on Burke's transfer!
Funny thing is, one of the "false" plots twists nearly turned out to be true — and it still might! I got a questionable tip about two weeks ago that (Potential spoiler alert) Callie was pregnant, and Grey's was planning to set up a whole "Who's the daddy?" story with George and McSteamy. But now it looks like that was another Shonda Rhimes-tested and -approved foiler.
So George and Izzie actually happened on Grey's Anatomy. I guess you gave us fair warning. Now can you please assure us that it was a one-time drunken mistake and it won't be happening again?
I really wish I could. But I can't.
I heard on the radio that Lisa Kudrow may also join the Grey's spin-off. Have you heard anything about this?
Not true. Lisa was up for one of the primary roles — Amy Brenneman's part, perhaps? — but apparently a return to TV prompted this reaction from her: "I don't want to see that!" (Never gets old.)

Addison Heading to LA!

0 talk backs

This just in from TVGuide.com:

The mystery surrounding the setting of the Grey's Anatomy spin-off has been solved — by me!!
Per one very well-placed mole, the hospital where Addison will accept her new job will be located in (drumroll, please… ) Los Angeles! That's right, Doc Montgomery's going Hollywood!
Which makes perfect sense given what else I know about the top-secret offshoot. Sources confirm that plastic surgery and psychiatry (two L.A. staples) will play as prominent roles in the show as Addison's chosen field of neonatology. In fact, according to a source who read the script for the pilot, er, I mean the "enhanced two-hour Grey's episode with a potential for afterlife," there are multiple scenes set in a shrink's office and another scene involving a pampered Beverly Hills princess contemplating a chemical peel with her hot plastic surgeon (Tim Daly, perhaps?).
Oh, and my spy also points out the show takes advantage of its setting in another way. "There's sex, sex and more sex," whispers my mole. "I thought I was reading an episode of Nip/Tuck!"
OK, just to recap, here's what we currently know about Grey's 2.0:
Who: Kate Walsh, Tim Daly, Taye Diggs, Amy Brenneman, Chris Lowell, Merrin Dungey and Paul Addelstein.
What: Grey's Anatomy spin-off. I mean "enhanced two-hour Grey's episode with a potential for... " Oh, forget it. Grey's spin-off.
Where: Los Angeles.
When: Special two-hour May sweeps episode of Grey's "with potential... " No, I'm just not typing that again.
Why: Mo' money, natch!

Plot Twist Being Revealed in 'S&S'...

0 talk backs

Monday brings all-new Michael Ausiello scoop on Grey's Anatomy from TVGuide.com, so be sure to check it out below:

I was hoping that Izzie and George hooking up would be one of the false plot twists in your Grey's Anatomy tease last month (Ask Ausiello 2/21). But I just saw the preview for tomorrow's episode and I'm freaking out. Please tell me it's some kind of mistake.
Let me just say this: After tomorrow's Grey's airs, you'll know which one of the six plot twists is real. Here they are again in case you're too lazy to click on the link above.

• After breaking things off with Cristina, Burke will transfer to another hospital.
• Callie will reveal she's pregnant.
• Izzie and George will hook up.
• Izzie will be reunited with her daughter, and it's someone we've already seen on the show.
• Addison will be diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
• Derek and Meredith's relationship will hit a roadblock when one of her exes shows up on her doorstep with one thing on his mind.

So why did Grey's Anatomy put the kibosh on the Addison and Alex romance?

I hear the brakes were put on Addisex the moment it was decided that Justin Chambers wouldn't be following Kate Walsh over to Grey's 2.0. The thinking being: no sense in getting viewers even more invested in Addisex if only one of 'em is returning to Seattle Grace next season.

So, any scoop on which females (other than Kate Walsh, of course) will be featured on Grey's 2.0? We've already got several hunky males signed up.
Sounds like someone forgot to check in on the Ausiello Report this week.

I am devastated that Shonda Rhimes has put Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s journalist show on the back burner. Can you confirm if this is set for the summer or if it has been canceled altogether?

ABC insists it's still in play, but word on the street is it's as good as dead. And that's especially true if Grey's 2.0 gets off the ground — which, let's face it, it will.

New Kristin Scoop!

0 talk backs

It's that day again - Monday! Which means more Kristin scoop on Grey's Anatomy! Enjoy!

Will Loretta Devine be making any more appearances on Grey's before the season is over? I won't accept that this is the end of the road for the chief and his Adele. Especially now since Ellis is dead!
I totally just ran into the divine Loretta Devine at the Independent Spirit Awards and asked her if she'd be back on Grey's after slamming the door in the chief's face. She said, "I hope so…like the chief wasn't cheating! They don't let you know ahead of time what's going to happen, but I hope she comes back."

Grey's Anatomy! Who's going to hook up?
Addison and McSteamy. And Izzie and...oh, I can't tell you that! I might be wanting to die today, but on most other days I do like my life.

Yah, that's it next week. Who could Izzie be hooking up with? God, don't let it be George. Please. We're all begging you!
