Someone's Pregnant!

1 talk backs

Could it be Mer? Here's the scoop from TVGuide's Michael Ausiello.

Grey's scoop, please! I hear someone may be preggers — and that someone shared a red-hot smooch in the finale!
Now that the Grey's finale has aired, can you tell us which kiss was the "major" one that Shonda Rhimes was talking about? Based on her morning-after post-mortem, I think she was referring to Mer/Der's big smooch. Personally, the Alex/Izzie kiss was the only one that made me lean into the TV.
I just watched an interview with Patrick Dempsey where he mentions that the next season of Grey's Anatomy will be 30-34 episodes long. Any scoop on that? Really? He said that? My sources are telling me it'll be closer to 24 episodes.
Plus, here's Ausiello's grade on the finale.
B+ (Ellen Pompeo has never been better. Ditto Justin Chambers. Loved the final shot. Shonda Rhimes, consider thyself redeemed.)

Lots of Kisses! And Lexzie Too?!

1 talk backs

Here's some very exciting information concering Lexzie, Callie/Hahn (I think we need a couple name for them by now!), and the big two-hour finale, Freedom, airing May 22! Thanks to Mike Ausiello at TVGuide.com.

So much for the suspense surrounding the big Grey's kiss. The new issue of TV Guide comes out and says it's Hahn and Callie! WTF? Au contraire, mademoiselle. The TVG article actually says Hahn and Callie smack lips this Thursday. The "major" kiss Shonda Rhimes was referring to takes place next week in the season-ender — and it may or may not pertain to a second, more passionate Hahn/Callie buss. This much I can confirm for you: The May 22 finale features several kisses, all of which I'd characterize as significant. But only one is so good that, to quote Rhimes, it will make you "lean into your televisions."
Any hints on the Grey's Anatomy finale — especially Alex and Izzie? It's about damn time. That's your hint.
So, could the "big kiss" be another Hahn/Callie kiss? MerDer? Lexzie?! Or some couple we're not even thinking of....?

It's Official! A Two-Hour Finale!

0 talk backs

...And we all have the creators of Lost to thank. This is AWESOME news! Here's the scoop from the one and only Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com.

I can now confirm what I first teased earlier this week: Team Darlton has sealed a deal with ABC to bring us an extra hour of Lost this season.

But there's a twist.

Lost isn't the only ABC hit experiencing an unexpected growth spurt. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Grey's Anatomy will also expand its season by an hour — and it has Lost to thank!

Allow me to explain. With a 14th hour of Lost now a done deal, the show's finale will swell to three hours. But, in what can only be described as an unorthodox scheduling move, the first hour of that finale will air on May 15, and then we have to wait two weeks — until May 29 — to get the last two hours! That's right, no Lost on May 22.

Why?

Apparently, Darlton convinced ABC that the final two hours had to air together. And with the finales of Grey's and Ugly Betty already slated for May 22 at 8 and 9 pm respectively, ABC really had no other choice than to sked Lost's two-hour exit for May 29. That, in turn, created a hole on May 22 at 10 pm — hence the net's decision to tack an extra hour onto the Grey's finale.

Psychiatry

0 talk backs

Here's a little tidbit of information from Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com. Grey's returns April 24 with five all-new episodes.

Do you know for sure if Amy Madigan will be playing Mer's psychiatrist on Grey's Anatomy? Yes, she's definitely playing her shrink and, presumably, the catalyst that will bring Mer-Der back together by the finale.

A Psychiatrist for Mer?

0 talk backs

Remember way back when, before the drowning arc, that there were rumors that Elizabeth Reaser's Jane Doe/Ava/Rebecca was going to be a psychiatrist? Which was then scrapped? Well, it looks as if that psychiatrist is making a comeback, albeit through a different actress. This should make for some veddy interesting storylines! I'm so excited for the show to return! Thanks to Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com.

Amy Madigan has booked a multi-episode arc on Grey's Anatomy, sources confirm to me exclusively. The Oscar-nominated thesp — and former co-star of HBO's gone-but-not-forgotten Carnivale — is playing a psychiatrist who, and I'm just speculating here, may be the one to help Meredith get over her commitment issues, thus paving the way for the Mer/Der reunion Shonda Rhimes has been hyping. Meanwhile, Madigan's former Carnivale co-star, Clea DuVall, will fill the "everywoman housewife" role I teased in last week's Ask Ausiello. Her George Clooney-esque husband will be played by Jason O'Mara (Men in Trees, In Justice). I'm guessing one of them will be a patient. Both are on board for two episodes.

Gizzie is No More

2 talk backs

Here's the scoop from Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com. Grey's Anatomy finally returns on April 24th with five all-new episodes.

That's great about Mer/Der getting back together for good this season, but what about Seattle Grace's other star-crossed duo — you know, Gizzie? It's with overwhelming joy deep regret that I inform you that Gizzie is no more. Sources confirm that the ill-conceived plot twist suffocated to death under the weight of its own absurdity shortly after the writers returned to work last month. A private memorial service was held in early March at the home of Shonda Rhimes. In lieu of flowers, fans are asked to keep the "thank gods" to a low roar….
Got any clue as to what's going to happen when Addison returns to Grey's Anatomy? I've actually got a big clue and here it is: Addison just so happens to stop by Seattle Grace on the same day a patient is admitted to the hospital with a neo-natal-type emergency. What are the odds?!

Script Revisions

0 talk backs

Here's some information on the next slew of all-new Grey's Anatomy, starting with Where the Wild Things Are on April 24, straight from Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com:

Now that we know that Meredith and Derek will be getting back together on Grey's Anatomy, any idea on how it'll happen and why the fans have to endure five more episodes of Nurse Plot Device? I imagine the reason you have to endure Nurse Plot Device Rose for five more episodes is because A) the show already agreed to pay Lauren Stamile for those episodes, and B) Nurse Plot Device Rose is probably one of the catalysts bringing Mer-Der back together. In related news, new details are emerging about the first episode back on April 24 and they vary slightly from what I reported last week. I'm told that roughly six weeks will have passed, not "several months." And the first scene will most likely take place at Seattle Grace, not at the end of Derek and Rose's latest date. Damn script revisions!
Grey's scoop — please, sir, may I have some more? And how. Get this: Grey's is out to get George Clooney! Well, a George Clooney type, at least, to appear in two episodes. The show also is on the hunt for an actress to play the hunk's wife, who, though younger, is no Sarah Larson; she's more of an everywoman housewife, minus the desperate.

About those Katherine Heigl Rumors...

0 talk backs

Apparently they aren't true. Read on for the details from Mr. Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com:

Maybe it's the show's impending post-strike return. Maybe it's the success of that mediocre movie with the dresses. Or maybe it's that recent National Enquirer story. Whatever the reason, rumors that Katherine Heigl's Grey's days are numbered have staged a Hillary-type resurgence this week. But does the prattle have any basis in reality? A well-placed Seattle Grace insider, who, it should be noted, has never steered me wrong before, insists that Heigl remains "under contract" and adds that there are "no plans or discussions" for her to exit the series. End of story. At least until the end of her next contract cycle. Of course, Heigl wanting to leave Grey's and actually leaving Grey's are two very different things. That's not to suggest she wants to leave. Just that the two things are different. I want to be very clear about that. All this talk about Heigl not leaving Grey's has me wondering: Could the show survive without Izzie? Gizzie, yes. But Izzie? Thoughts below please.

Flashing Forward

0 talk backs

Here, after many many weeks, is some scoop on the next all-new episode of Grey's Anatomy from Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com:

I was really looking forward to Joshua Jackson being Cristina's love interest on Grey's Anatomy, so the scheduling conflicts suck! Any updates on who'll be cast instead? Big update: I'm hearing that Shonda Rhimes has handed the plum part to a relative newcomer by the name of No One. Get it? She handed the role to No One. [Hold for laughter and/or crickets] Seriously, my Grey's spies tell me that Ms. Rhimes has decided to put the character on hold indefinitely. Bummer.
I seriously need some Grey's Anatomy scoop. Any hope for us Mer-Der fans? Not in the first episode back, which flashes forward a few months and, per one source, picks up at the end of Derek and Rose's latest date. In that same episode, I'm hearing something about a contest to determine who Seattle Grace's best doc is.

Grey's Anatomy BACK ON?!

0 talk backs

OK, so, talk about the best news ever. Thanks to the amazing Ausiello at TVGuide.

Paging the cast of Grey's Anatomy... you're needed back on set, STAT!

With a tentative agreement between striking writers and Hollywood moguls expected to be announced sometime this week, my moles at Grey's tell me that production on the show is expected to resume in early March. The plan is to shoot four or five episodes to air in April/May.
Obviously, we'll keep you updated!
YAY!

Callie on Her Own

0 talk backs

Ausiello posted a bit of new stuff on Grey's today, and while it's more speculation from the actors than anything, we'll take it in a time where we've got nothing. Enjoy!

I've been in a slump ever since that last Grey's Anatomy episode. Could you make a girl's day a little brighter and give her a little poop? I chatted up Sara Ramirez at the SAGs and she hinted that Callie might not be in a rush to jump back into another steady relationship post-George. "I think it's an interesting concept, Callie being alone again. It's a universal issue that women deal with a lot. 'What do I do when I'm alone?' 'Is it OK to be alone and not have a man?' I think it's an interesting thing to explore. But, you know, it's Grey's Anatomy. And we love our hookups and one-night stands. I'm all for her finding love in all the wrong places all over again. Maybe there's more than one? She should play the field a little."
I loved the last original Grey's Anatomy episode — especially the Alex-Izzie moments. Have you heard any scoop about them getting together next season? I have not, but Justin Chambers had some very interesting things to say about that very subject at the SAG Awards. "I think Alex has a deep longing for her," he told me. "He's just not man enough to admit it. He's got a lot of issues to work out. Hopefully he'll get secure enough with them."

Someone Wants to Leave - STAT

1 talk backs

According to Michael Ausiello over at TVGuide.com, someone major at Grey's Anatomy wants to leave the show - and soon. Current speculation is that it is Katherine Heigl, who has been quite outspoken about her dislike with the show's (and her character's) current direction, and is bursting into huge movie fame (first with Knocked Up, and now with 27 Dresses out next Friday). True, there are 13 main cast members on Grey's Anatomy, but Heigl is the most outspoken, with Patrick Dempsey coming close behind, but he's already spoken for himself, saying that even if he doesn't like the direction the show is heading, he'll stick with it until the end. In the same quote, he was also speaking for the whole cast, but obviously, this isn't true for all of them. Nevertheless, we probably don't have to worry about most of the cast members, including Patrick and Ellen Pompeo, but Katherine Heigl...well, I'm not too sure about her. I personally really hope she doesn't leave. It would be a huge blow to the show and Izzie's character is so essential. I'll keep you updated. Read on for Ausiello's scoop from his column...

Some very mean and nasty people have been saying that Sandra Oh is leaving Grey's Anatomy, whenever it comes back. Since you are the god of TV scoop, I knew you'd be able to deny this for me. Interesting. Unfortunately, I can't verify that rumor's authenticity. What I can verify is that someone — and a major someone at that — wants to be discharged from Seattle Grace, and STAT. But, as far as I can tell, that someone is not Sandra Oh.
You mentioned that Joshua Jackson's three-episode Grey's Anatomy arc was delayed indefinitely because of the writers' strike. However, there's a new Grey's airing this Thursday. Will he be in that episode? No, hence the "delayed indefinitely" thing. The good news is that I hear Shonda Rhimes has every intention of shoe-horning Pacey into Seattle Grace (and Cristina's bed) the second the strike is over.

Mrs. O'Malley Returning!

0 talk backs

Here's the scoop from Ausiello at TVGuide.com...

You mentioned a while back that George's mom was returning to Grey's Anatomy. Did the strike push that back? That's what I'm hearing. According to my Seattle Grace mole, Mama O'Malley's return — originally slated for November sweeps — was delayed until Episode 11, aka the show's final pre-strike episode. That probably explains why George had little to do during the just-wrapped two-parter. Why'd they move her out of sweeps? Well, per my spy, when it became clear that eppy 11 might be the final hour of Grey's we get in a long time, the script underwent "massive rewrites" to ramp up the drama and add several cliff-hangers — one of which involves George's old lady. "They're pretty big bombshells," says the source. "Basically, everyone's futures are left up in the air." Well, not everyone's. As I reported in this week's Ausiello Report vodcast, by the end of the episode there will be little doubt which direction the Mer/Derek/Rose triangle is headed in. [Basically, Derek will dump Meredith's "whiny ass" for Rose.]
Earlier this season, you teased that someone's getting divorced on Grey's Anatomy, and it's not who we'd expect. After reading your Bailey/narration spoiler, it has me thinking that it's her. I can neither confirm nor deny that Bailey will be getting a divorce this season on Grey's Anatomy.

Could This Be the Tragedy?

0 talk backs

After weeks and weeks of speculation on what exactly could be Bailey's tragedy - and the cause of her narration replacing Meredith's for an episode (Lay Your Hands on Me), it seems that some people at the ABC Message Boards have finally unearthed the truth behind the tragedy. Read with caution, cuz it ain't pretty. (FYI, you can change your vote in the poll to the right after reading this, if you do so choose.)

dappybee says...
Either Bailey's husband or son dies when a book shelf falls on him. That is why she will narrate 1 episode.
dolphcharge says...
Well, according to the sides, it is Tuck (her son) who gets crushed by the bookshelf... How do we know someone dies?
LILBAIL3Y says...
I read that Callie saves Bailey's son and she is suppose to offer Callie her job back, but I don't know how true that part is.
icankillyouwithmybrain says...
It makes sense that Callie is the one who saves him because I read that Tuck breaks like 3 ribs. Bailey might offer it back in desperation, thinking "I should have been home", or out of guilt. But I doubt Callie would take it back or that Bailey would REALLY want to give it up.
UPDATE: Here's Michael Ausiello's Vodcast, where he's got a self-proclaimed "graphic re-enactment" of Bailey's tragedy. It's the whole thing, so you'll get some scoop on your other favorite shows, such as House or Supernatural as well! Enjoy.

Jackson's Been Postponed

0 talk backs

Here's all the scoop from Ausiello at TVGuide.com:
Is Seth Green's Grey's Anatomy gig still happening, or has it been scrapped due to the strike?
His two-episode stint has already been shot and will air. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Joshua Jackson's arc, which has been delayed indefinitely. Bummer, too, since I just found out which Seattle Grace doc he was going to be paired with, and it's pretty much the last person I would've suspected. And trust me, that's a good thing. I probably shouldn't tell you who it is since the script isn't even written yet and, therefore is subject to change…. Oh, what the hell (Major spoiler alert): It's Cristina! That's right, Yang was/is supposed to rebound with Pacey!
Is Callie really gone on Grey's Anatomy? I know a lot of people don't like Sara Ramirez's character, but she is absolutely one of my favorite parts of the show!
Sara's not going anywhere

Sexy Time Coming Up!

0 talk backs

Here's the latest from Ausiello at TVGuide.com.

My DVR broke and I need some very juicy Grey's Anatomy scoop to get over the pain. Tomorrow night, two people who have never been romantically linked will have sex — and Meredith will walk in on them! Any guesses?
Last Thursday's Grey's Anatomy was the episode of the season so far! Was Brooke Smith (Dr. Hahn) the one-off guest star promoted to series regular you were referring to? Yep, she sure was. And if you missed my morning-after Q&A with Ms. Smith, you're in luck: Click on this link and you'll be routed directly to the story. Ain't technology grand?
Are they going do be doing anything with McSteamy's storyline on Grey's anytime soon? A new love interest possibly? Call me crazy, but I have a hunch that he's the mystery doc Brooke Smith said would be crushing on Dr. Hahn in a future episode. I said call me crazy, not that. In the Oct. 10 AA, you said Lauren Stamile would be Derek's new love interest on Grey's Anatomy, but I haven't seen any other spoilers to support this. Are you fact-checking my stories? If so, where the hell were you during that whole Damages debacle? In any event, there's no need to vet my Stamile item; she's definitely coming in as a love interest for Patrick Dempsey. In fact, their first date is scheduled for Nov. 15.
This George and Izzie thing is getting depressingly gross. When will it end? Certainly not tomorrow night, when the two of them decide to have sex for the first time without being drunk. Unfortunately for them — but fortunately for us — an obstacle stands in their way. Hint: Removing said obstacle requires a sharp object that can be found at your local CVS.

Gizzie and S&M Still Going Strong!

0 talk backs

Here's the latest news from Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com...don't shoot the messenger...

What's going on with George and Izzie on Grey's? Are they breaking up or not?!
I honestly don't know what to believe anymore. After my interview with Shonda Rhimes at the Emmys, I thought for sure she was pulling the plug on this ill-conceived romance. But yesterday I got an unconfirmed tip that Gizzie is still alive and kicking in Episode 8. That's right — 8! That means we've got at least five more weeks of these two! My mole also reports that in the same episode, Mer and Der are still going strong with their whole let's-have-sex-but-not-be-super-serious thing.

And Halloween Just Keeps Getting Better...

0 talk backs

Grey's Anatomy's Halloween episode, Haunt You Everyday, airing October 25, is going to be freaking HUGE. I'm not even joking. Take a look at the plot that ABC released here and the gallery here, and you'll only see a portion of what I'm talking about. To see the other portion? Read on to see what Michael Ausiello had to say:

I thought I’d give you the chance to turn things around and share some Grey's scoop with us.
Dr. Hahn will be returning for the Halloween episode on Oct. 25, and she’ll make a controversial decision that causes a major rift between Cristina and Izzie. Also, the fallout from Gizziegate will throw Callie and Cristina together in a very unexpected way, and someone is fired from his/her position.
Can you give us the scoop on this new actress cast on Grey's Anatomy? Is she Derek's sister or a potential new love interest?
Promise you won't shoot the messenger? I mean it — promise. OK, she's Derek's potential new love interest. Hey, you promised!
More Grey's please!
Someone from Mer's past is returning next month — and this person's identity is revealed in my latest vodcast! (It's Thatcher, Meredith's father.)

So, who's getting fired? Could it be Callie? What rift will Dr. Hahn cause? And will the new actress and McDreamy really get it on? Could the new season get any better?!

Mama Gives Her Piece of Mind

1 talk backs

Here's the exciting scoop from Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com!

Did Shonda Rimes mislead everyone? Is she reviving Gizzie instead of killing it? It sure looked that way in the premiere and the preview for this week's episode.
You should know by now that those promos only tell half the story. Take it from someone who has seen the entire episode — that's me! — Gizzie is dealt a setback this Thursday when George chooses… um… let's just say he makes an important decision that sets the stage for Episode 3, "Let the Truth Sting." Keep in mind, Shonda strongly hinted that Gizzie wouldn't start to come undone until news of their fling made its way around Seattle Grace. I believe what you witnessed in last week's opener was the snuggle before the s**tstorm. Another scoopbit: Derek also makes a decision at the end of the episode, and it's one that'll make all you Mer-Der fans swoon.
Can you please provide some Grey's Anatomy scoop? Preferably on whether or not Cristina will get a new love interest.
Before she can get a new love interest, she has to purge the old one from her system. And she'll do just that this Thursday when Mama Burke drops by Seattle Grace to administer a dose of tough love. And Cristina isn't the only person she goes all Dr. Phil on. As I teased in this week's Ausiello Report vodcast, Diahann Carroll takes Meredith to task for the "selfish" and "inappropriate" thing she did in last May's season finale. And don't even think of asking me for a hint. You know full well what thing I'm referring to.
I hear you've seen this week's Grey's. Please tell me it's better than the season premiere. Izzie tending to a deer? WTF?
OMG, I totally forgot to tell you the most important thing about Thursday's installment: It's fraktacular! If you were longing for the good ol' Grey's, I'm happy to tell you it makes a triumphant comeback tomorrow night. It had all the snap, crackle and pop of a Season 2 episode. And speaking of triumphs, Chandra Wilson gives a performance that has "2008 Emmy Reel" written all over it. I know it's early, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that supporting-actress trophy is hers to lose.

MerDer Sex?!

1 talk backs

After Kristin's depressing news that Meredith and Derek are over at the start of this new season (beginning tomorrow!), it was nice to read today that they'll be having the infamous on-call room sex! Not quite sure how this is all gonna work out...but I can't wait to see! Grey's Anatomy's all-new season begins tomorrow...and be sure to take what Ausiello says with a grain of salt. He's been wrong before...but I'm hoping he isn't this time.

I would love you as much as Patrick Dempsey if you would tell me something about Meredith and Derek's relationship!
Did you see that big Grey's cover story in Monday's USA Today? In it, both Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo basically confirmed that there are no major developments with Mer-Der in the early part of the season. "Meredith and Derek are sort of treading water," Dempsey said. Added Pompeo, "All of our scenes are the same — we're either breaking up or having sex." She then teased that the star-crossed lovers will have an on-call-room "date" in an upcoming episode. Onetime spoilerphobe Shonda Rhimes, meanwhile, teased that one couple will get divorced this season, "and not the one people are thinking of." Hmmm… I was thinking George and Callie. Does that mean I'm wrong?
Grey's Anatomy spoilers would be appreciated.
The show is adding a new female character, described as a "girl-next-door type" and a potential love interest for one of the show's docs.
